In January 2025, after a poll of our members, we changed our name from the Lower Char Community Project to
River Char Action Group
We are a volunteer community group based in Charmouth and working and campaigning to clean up the River Char.
We work closely with, and are grateful for the help and support of:
River Char Community Project (a Char Valley Parish Council scheme working to clean up the upper River Char)
CROWD: Clean Rivers of West Dorset (coordinating river groups in West Dorset and working with Edward Morello MP)
West Dorset Wilding and the Brit Valley Recovery Project
Dorset National Landscape (who help to fund and carry out much of the work being done along the River Char)
Wessex Water (who have consistently supported and helped to fund our work)
